Book 2 : Fort Bastion
The story begins with Silverback successfully returning from a dangerous mission carrying a package of valuable intelligence. Amy manages to photograph roughly half of the recovered documents before they are forced to leave, preserving critical information about enemy movements, supply routes, and organizational structure despite impossible conditions. Although Fort Bastion appears secure, Sean senses growing unease beneath its disciplined exterior.
Inside the base, the team briefly enjoys the first real comforts they have experienced in months. Sean struggles to relax, Amy tirelessly analyzes the captured intelligence, and quiet conversations reveal growing mistrust of Bastion’s leadership and uncertainty about the future. Behind the routine of military life, political divisions and conflicting loyalties are becoming increasingly obvious. Those fears become reality when Fort Bastion suddenly erupts into violent internal warfare. Fort Bastion has effectively ceased to exist as a functioning military installation.
